Exploring our authentic self leads to insight, awareness, and the cultivation of self-love.

Self-love nurtures an attitude of self-acceptance and freedom.

Hi. I’m Sahaja Douglass.

I have been a licensed psychotherapist since 2001. Throughout the last 22 years, my own personal growth has influenced the way I support clients in their journey of transformation and healing.

Therapy is not always easy. This first step – reaching out to a therapist – takes real bravery, and engaging in self-reflection can be challenging. I acknowledge the courage it takes, and I create a safe space to explore personal challenges, tendencies, or past traumas that get in the way of living a fulfilling and joyous life. Amidst a trusting relationship, we explore your unconscious thoughts, behaviors, and impulses. I listen to what you want, to how you want to grow. I listen to your dreams, your frustrations, and your triumphs. I open my heart to you and use my training, skills, and experience to facilitate your process— a process that allows you to open your heart and experience deeper self-awareness and self-love.

I am compassionate and empathic. Insightful and direct. I feel honored to hold space for those who want to evolve and explore their authentic self.

Depending on what you want and need, during sessions we might explore feelings you have about people and situations in your life. We might explore how your most important initial relationships influence your current behaviors. Or we might focus on pragmatic strategies for achieving specific goals that you have. Our agenda is determined by where you are in your life and what you want out of therapy. While empathy and developing a trusting relationship is the most important aspect of successful therapy, I do have some specific areas of experience, including:

*ADHD

*Adult Children of Alcoholics

*Anxiety

*Career Change

*Caretakers

*Conscious Conception

*Depression

*Eating Issues and Body Dysmorphia

*Infertility

*Life Transitions

*Loss and Grief of a Child, Partner,
  or Someone Significant

*Mindfulness Practices

*Parenting Issues

*Post-Partum Difficulties

*Relationship Issues

*Serious Illness

*Stress

*Trauma

Self-exploration is not a linear process. Like waves in the ocean, healing ebbs and flows. Consistent commitment to nourishing yourself and to bravely exploring your mind and heart will be rewarded with greater self-understanding and fulfillment.

If we are a good fit, it would be my honor to help facilitate and support your evolution.
